San Francisco- Oct '08

Last week, Kelci and I took advantage of our Fall Breaks at school and headed to visit Marianne, Josh, and Charlie in San Francisco. I deleted over 160 pictures from the trip, so these don't even come close to showing how awesome the whole trip was.
We got to see their new, much less cramped neighborhood...

and since it was Kelci's first time in San Francisco, Marianne and Josh were kind enough to show us all the regular tourist attractions such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, Haight-Ashbury, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Warf, the ocean, and many more unique places.

We had a great time seeing the attractions, going to the Soapbox derby, eating the best sushi of our lives, going to the beach, eating their delicious cooking, and most of all.. seeing Charlie. Thanks Mar and Josh!

4201 Harrison Blvd

Our old store. As much as we have all hated this place over the years, we have loved it even more. It was way too small and outdated for the amount of business that came through and dominated way too many family dinner conversations. But it was successful. And this is where the James kids learned to work. Mom and dad instilled a strong work ethic in each of us early on but we all exercised it here. And we have taken many of the lessons learned here on to other successes in our lives. Of course the new location is great but this is where it all began. Consider this post a little tribute. I know I'll miss seeing that building on the corner.

Happy Birthday mom & dad!!

Happy birthday to you both.  I thought I'd remind you how much fun we had last year on your birthdays...
Mom, we enjoyed touring the Alps in Chamonix and had a great time at dinner watching that little dog (that looked just like Pepper) running around the square....

Then we toured the streets of Rome by night.  And Dad, I don't think you got to blow out any candles but you did get to make a wish at the Trevi Fountain...

Park City

We had a wonderful time in Park City with everyone last week. Thanks to mom and dad for a wonderful vacation. Although I will say that traveling with an infant is not much of a vacation. But it was worth it! I know Charlie enjoyed playing with all of you. He is one lucky boy to have such wonderful aunts, uncles, grandmas and grandpas...

Bumbo

I love this little seat called a Bumbo. I think grandma should get one for her house (hint, hint!).

Happy 4th of July!

We're glad that Brent and Natalie came to see us for the 4th of July. So Charlie had a big day today....breakfast at The Pork Store in the Haight followed by a drive along the coast and some shopping at Union Square. Now he's all tuckered out. Too bad he will already be in bed when it's time for fireworks. But there's always next year.

Could You Be Love

We had a nice day yesterday. First we had some friends over for brunch - Charlie got to see his friend Elisa. Then he danced to Bob Marley until his little legs gave out...
Then we took him shopping where he got his first pair of real shoes and some other cute stuff (will post a pic of that soon).

Giants fan

Charlie attended his first Giants game on Saturday night...in a luxury box. He is one spoiled little baby. Nah, just kidding...it was an event with Josh's firm. We had a great time and Charlie was so good. He didn't cry once the entire evening. His little Giants t-shirt was a hit. He even got a certificate from the Giants to commemorate his first game (which was my favorite part of the evening - something for the baby book). The only downside was that they lost to Oakland. Boo.

Parents in training

Joni and Dave were so cute with Charlie this past weekend. They are going to make great parents!

Tummy time

Tummy time is supposed to help prevent babies that sleep on their backs from getting flat heads. Charlie is doomed... he pretty much refuses to stay on his tummy!
